Something seems to have changed with the 2.2. update - At least I have that gut feeling when typing SMS or eMail on my iPhone: the auto-correct feature behaves less stubborn than before. I don't have any proof so far that really something changed except the fact that for the first time since OS 2.0 I didn't have to cancel the auto-correction from 'LG' to 'OF' under every single message. That may hint to a fix. Also, 'schon' is no longer auto-corrected to 'schön' and the iPhoneism (like neologism) 'genaü' is gone, too.

Seems like I don't need to use that new 'turn off auto-correct' preference in OS 2.2 now. Hooray!
